About The Survival list #
Greetings! My name is Hoosier Prepper. Welcome to my website. I created this resource because the future looks disruptive. Change–whether technological, social or climate-related, is happening faster than ever.
Our future could turn nightmarish, utopian, or a little of both, with consequences certain to disrupt life-as-we-know-it. Yet most people, including myself, live as if stability and peace will continue indefinitely. History suggests, we had better buckle up.
If you have the nagging feeling that something is coming, you will find much of interest here.
This compendium of links about sustainable living, preparedness, and survival is divided into 4 sections:
-
The Awareness section helps you develop situational awareness by learning what threatens people living today. A person unaware of what can happen, cannot be prepared for what may happen.
-
The next section is about Preparedness–taking steps to mitigate the effects of disruptive events, should they happen. For example, you can put aside money in case of job loss, better manage your food supply, convert part of your basement into a storm shelter, or pack survival kits for your family. Preparedness is a huge subject, so this is the largest section.
-
There is also a section about Worst-Case Preparedness. Frankly, we’re all screwed if weapons of mass destruction are ever deployed again. If the unthinkable does occur, specialized knowledge and preparation are prerequisites to survival. Here you’ll find links about living in the aftermath of EMP or nuclear war.
-
Instead of dwelling on worst-case scenarios, I invite you to browse the Sustainable Living section. Learning to become self-reliant is a step beyond preparedness that minimizes disruptions, while solving many of the biggest problems we face as a species.
